Nadia and Carol
Nadia Comaneci is a Romanian gymnast (born on the 12th of November, 1961, in Gheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now OnestiGheorghe Gheorghiu Dej [now Onesti] Romania). She was the first gymnast to score a perfect 10 during an Olympic occasion. Bela Karolyi later Romanian Gymnastics Coach, came across Comaneci as she was only the age of six. Her first competition was at the national junior championships of 1969 placing 13th and she took the title in 1970. In 1972, during the communist nations' meet for junior athletes prior to the Olympics, she bagged three gold awards. And in 1973, and '74 she was the overall junior champion. Her first competitive event with a senior team in 1975 she beat the Russian Lyudmila Turishcheva who was a five-time European champion, winning 4 gold medals as well as one silver. The American Cup was hers to win. American Cup in New York City in 1976, becoming the first woman in history to complete backward double salto as dismounting off the unbalanced parallel bars. Carol Wayne.........................Carol Wayne was an American film and TV actor best recognized for portraying Art Fern's Tea-Time Movie Lady on The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson. Her path into the entertainment business began in her teens when she started dancing as a figure skater with her younger cousin Nina Wayne as part of the traveling entertainment shows called Ice Capades. Carol Marie Wayne is a American citizen who was born on September 6 1942 in Chicago, Illinois. Carol ventured into the world of entertainment during her teenage years. At the age of 13, Carol began as a figure skater in the traveling show Ice Capades with her sister Nina Wayne. The show featured dramatized ice skating spectacles.
