April Lockhart
April Lockhart was born on July 4 1995 in seventh grade. She began playing guitar and piano lessons, sparking her interest in songwriting. April Lockhart composed her first track"Different" at twelve years old. At the age of 14 April, she spent a lot of time writing and honed her musicianship ability. In the following months, April started to take trips to NY and LA along with her dad so that they could both compose songs. April added other themes to the track "Take My Hand" to help her friends who dealt with issues such as peer pressurization problems, as well as teens who committed suicide. Lockhart is a popular figure and is a lifestyle blogger with the renowned Ilia the Clean Beauty brand. She was born without her left hand, and it's part of who she is--but this isn't the whole truth. Lockhart acknowledges her handicap on Instagram, but she doesn't make it the focus of it. What is the message? It's important to keep in mind that we all have multiple faces. Our identities are diverse and we're greater than the bodies we wear. It's not my intention to let that be the only thing that defines me. I don't wish to become a disability influencer where that's all I speak about since there are so many other aspects to my life. Lockhart speaks via video from her house in Nashville. It doesn't impact my day-to-day life I do things normally, and I've discovered the best way for me to adapt the things. But, I consider it a very important aspect of me. Lockhart inspires us to keep going with self-acceptance. Lockhart admits to having been through times when she was uncomfortable wearing certain clothing styles which displayed her arms. Today, she wears what she's comfortable in and post images of her outfits to social media, she is proud of herself. For her, self-love is always a lengthy trip. This is true for everyone, regardless of the level of insecurity. It's essential to have those around you who are aware of and can relate to the way you feel. They'll be the ones who ask you: What do you fret about?
