I was a gruelling 12 hours sanding floors, and tearing down wallpaper with one baby strapped to my back and the others crawling inside the playpen. Ha! My company was flourishing, but my family was growing too. The balance was between starting a new business and being a mother. Growing Days just seemed to be the right fit. Nora came into our lives in 2013 as our 4th baby. The direction my company was heading was fantastic, but I was forced to take some time off. I decided to quit building my old furniture for a while and stay home with the children. That was precisely what I needed. After a few minutes the phone started to ring. A lot of people contacted me seeking advice regarding home improvements and decor. A majority of those calling me were from those who visited my home at one of my furniture open houses. It wasn't long before I managed a large-scale house renovation business. The first step was to take clients one by one at a pace that I could be at ease with. If you'd have said to me that this company of mine could become the basis of a television show for the DIY Network I probably would have thought you were crazy. As I reflect back, it makes me smile.
