Laura Linney's portrayal as vulnerable but strong characters has made her one of the top American actors. Born to a well-known playwright's father, and being raised by a single mother who made a living by working as a nurse. She began to take an interest in theater while spending summers with her father and eventually pursuing a degree in acting first as a student at Brown University and then at Juilliard School. After graduating from Brown University, she made making her Broadway debut in the following year. Within two years of this, her first feature film was released and the next year her TV debut. She has been featured on a number of television, film and stage productions since then. She received many accolades throughout her career such as the four Primetime Emmy Awards and two Golden Globe Awards. In spite of numerous awards acting has been her primary passion and she has continued to appear both on stage and screen.
